LADSON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Charleston County deputies have charged a woman with driving under the influence after three people were injured in a head-on collision Tuesday night.
According to a report by the CCSO, a Chevy Suburban crossed the center line approaching the curve near
Ladson Road, hitting a Toyota sedan. The driver of the Toyota was
airlifted with serious injuries and a passenger in the Toyota was taken to a nearby hospital by EMS with
non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Suburban was also taken
to a hospital.
Deputies reported the driver of the Chevy "was very unsteady on her feet and emitted the odor of an alcoholic beverage."
Now, 40-year-old Julia Smith is charged with felony driving under the influence and simple possession of marijuana.
