1st Congressional District's GOP candidates meet for forum

Posted: Updated:

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) – Sixteen Republican candidates vying for the same 1st Congressional District seat make for an interesting public forum.

All of the GOP candidates met Thursday night at the Altman Athletic Center at The Citadel to answer questions in front of Gov. Nikki Haley and select voters.

The questions spanned from port solutions, gun control and mental health to Obamacare, tax reform, restrictions on minimum wage and sequestration.

One-by-one each candidate was allowed to answer the questions. However, due to the number  of candidates, some questions were limited to "yes or no" answers.

A debate for Republican candidates is set for March 14 at Porter-Gaud School.
