Allen was found shot to death in a Nissan Altima that was discovered in the ditch next to Lindy Creek Road during on December 13, 2012.

Investigators said Allen was shot several times and that Chavis was in the vehicle with the victim when he died.

Chavis walked into the Goose Creek Police Department with a gunshot wound to his upper right arm six hours after the incident.

According to an affidavit, Chavis told police he shot Allen in self defense following an altercation inside the car.
