NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- The United States Air Force Heritage Brass Quintet's performance hosted by the City of North Charleston's Cultural Arts Department has been canceled.

It was scheduled for March 17 at Sterett Hall Auditorium.

Officials with the City of North Charleston said they were told the cancellation is due to national budget cuts and that they were later told travel funds were suspended for all military bands.

Representatives with the USAF Heritage of America Band were apologetic to the public for the inconvenience.

The Thunderbirds have also been grounded because of sequestration. On the USAF flying team's website Maj. Darrick B. Lee with Thunderbirds Public Affairs announced all performances are canceled until April 1 which leaves their appearance at Myrtle Beach's air show up in the air.

According to The Blue Angels Public Relations team, all of their April shows are canceled, affecting four locations: MacDill AFB in Tampa, FL; NAS Corpus Christi in TX; Vidalia, GA and MCAS in nearby Beaufort.

"The Navy will wait until the last possible moment before making cancellations beyond April." the announcement read. "The Blue Angels are currently training so that if the decision to cancel the April shows is reversed, the team can continue to perform and inspire future generations of Sailors and Marines."

Other acts that would be affected include Tops in Blue and the Army's Golden Knights.
