BEAUFORT, S.C. (WCIV) - The 8th & I Battle Colors Detachment aboard Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort will perform at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 20.
The Detachment consists of the Silent Drill Platoon, the Marine Corps Color Guard and the Marine Corps Drum and Bugle Corps, all of which perform at hundreds of ceremonies a year around the world.
The ceremony is free and open to the public.
The performance will take place on the grass lawn in front of the headquarters building. Patrons visiting the Air Station must enter through the Air Station's main gate located at the intersection of Highways 21 and 116.
Although a Department of Defense decal is not required for admission, valid driver's license, proof of insurance and vehicle registration is required to drive on the installation.
Bleacher seating will be limited so visitors are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs. Parking areas will be marked and traffic will be directed by military police.
Base personnel are advising visitors to arrive at least 30 minutes early.
