CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A father and son were arrested Monday on charges they falsely passed lottery tickets.

According to the Charleston County Sheriff's Office, Johnnie Hodges Jr and Scott Hodges were arrested after an investigation into a burglary of a Ravenel convenience store. Deputies said burglars stole rolls of state lottery tickets from the store late last month.

Deputies said the Hodges cashed 53 of the stolen lottery tickets at a number of stores in the area to avoid detection.

Lottery officials, however, identified the tickets as being stolen.

At a bond hearing Tuesday afternoon, Johnnie Hodges' bond was set at $20,000. His son's bond was set at $15,000.

Deputies are still investigating the incident.
