Lowcountry tax preparers indicted on federal charges

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCIV) -- Two women were indicted Wednesday on charges of fraudulently filing tax returns.

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office in Columbia, 29-year-old Latasha Failey and 30-year-old Latoya Windham were charged in a 21-count indictment. The minimum penalty that the two women could receive is three years in prison for each count.

The cast was investigated by the IRS, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.
