NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Officers responded to the second shooting of the afternoon in North Charleston, police said Monday.

According to police, a home on Torgerson Avenue was hit by gunfire several times. A car in front of the home had been hit once.

Police said people were inside the house and the car at the time of the shooting, but no one was injured. One of the bullets entered the home and hit a headboard in one of the bedrooms, according to a police report. A child was sitting on the bed when the bullet hit the headboard, witnesses told police.

Police found 11 .40-caliber casings in front of the home.

Witnesses described a black male with a white T-shirt running from the scene carrying a black handgun, according to officers.
