Accident on Ravenel Bridge backs up traffic briefly
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A car accident on the Ravenel Bridge just past the East Bay Street on ramp headed to Mount Pleasant caused a temporary back-up for drivers.
According to Charleston police, several cars were involved in the accident and two lanes were shut down temporarily as a result. The accident happened around 3:30 p.m., but the lanes had reopened by 4 p.m.
Traffic was still heavy heading across the bridge even though all lanes were open.
Police did not have any information on injuries caused by the accident.
