Police: Stores evacuated for suspicious package, nothing found

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- North Charleston police responded to a suspicious package inside of the Dollar Tree at 7400 Rivers Avenue. 

According to a spokesperson with the NCPD, several businesses were evacuated and the Charleston County Bomb Squad was called to the scene.

Major James Brady with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office confirmed they assisted with the suspicious package.

Around 2:15 CPD officials confirmed The Dollar Tree was cleared by the Charleston County Bomb Squad and no explosives were found inside of the package.
