Posted: Updated:

ST. STEPHEN, S.C. (WCIV) -- A man faces child pornography charges after police say an undercover officer downloaded multiple files from an online account.

According to South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson 26-year-old James Berry Tisdale is charged with twelve counts involving the sexual exploitation of a minor.

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office, a member of the Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, made the arrest.

According to a release from the SCAG's office, in December 2012 and January 2013, a Berkeley County Sheriff's Office undercover detective downloaded the child porn from an account traced to Tisdale.

On March 11, sheriff's deputies executed a search warrant at Tisdale's home and seized two desktop and two laptop computers, along with other electronic equipment.  The release states a preliminary review of the computers revealed numerous files containing child pornography.

Tisdale was arrested on March 19 and charged with two counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor in the second degree and ten counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor in the third degree

If found guilty, Tisdale could face up to 10 years on each count.

Tisdale was assigned a surety bond of $170,000 and was ordered to have no contact with children under the age of 17, no access to the Internet or electronic devices capable of accessing it, and was restricted from areas where children congregate, such as daycare facilities, playgrounds, schools, libraries and public parks.

The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
