Boil water advisory for portion of Berkeley County

Posted: Updated:

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Berkeley County Water Service water main ruptured in the area of the Berkeley Country Club Subdivision and residents are under a boil advisory.

As a safety precaution, BCWS is asking residents to boil all water that is used for drinking, cooking, and making ice prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil, and then boiled for an additional minute.

The ruptured water main was shut down and once pressure is restored, crews will flush the mains and test water samples to make sure the water is safe.

Results of the test should come in late Thursday.

Residents in this area are asked to call (843) 572-4400 or visit www.bcwsa.com if they have any questions or concerns.
