Bristow, Oklahoma -
Two people were hospitalized this morning after a head-on collision in Creek County.
The crash occurred around 6:30 a.m. on Highway 66 just west of Bristow.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports that a 72-year-old man fell asleep behind the wheel and crossed over into oncoming traffic striking another car head-on.
The man was transported by ambulance to a Tulsa hospital in stable condition.
Emergency crews worked for 27 minutes to free the driver of the other vehicle from the wreckage before taking the driver to a Tulsa hospital by medical helicopter. the second driver was admitted in serious, but stable condition, according to the OHP report.
