WEST ASHLEY, S.C. (WCIV) - A 17-year-old was arrested and charged Wednesday with the break-in of a car and burglary at a West Ashley home, police said.

According to police, an alert citizen led police to Michael Diehl after a home and car were broken into on Pebble Road. Police charged Diehl with first-degree burglary, breaking into a motor vehicle and petit larceny.

Police said someone broke into a home on March 8 and stole two pellet guns, a GPS unit and several collectible coins.

On March 18, someone broke into a vehicle on the same road and stole a phone charger and a key fob to the car. The items were returned to their owner, police said.

Diehl is being held at the Al Cannon Detention Center.
