NCFD responds to gas main fire

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) - North Charleston firefighters had to put out a gas main fire on Rivers Avenue Thursday evening.

According to fire department officials, the fire started around 6:30 p.m. behind a building at 7250 Rivers Ave.

Firefighters were able to quickly contain the blaze and turn off gas to the meter. Officials said there was only minimal damage to the building.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
