SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Police are no longer the lookout for a man who robbed a pizza delivery driver after he dropped off a pie at a Summerville apartment complex. It turns out, police say the driver was lying.

According to the original police report, the driver said he had just made a delivery at the Tradition at Summerville apartments when he turned onto Marymeade Drive toward Berlin G. Myers Parkway when he saw a Chevy Trailblazer following him.

The driver, who works for Famulari's Pizzeria, told police a dark sedan then pulled out in front, stopping him, and the driver of the Trailblazer got out and pulled a silver pistol on him.

The only suspect the driver could recall is described as a black male between the ages of 18 and 25-years-old, about 5'9" weighing about 220 pounds. The driver said the suspect also had an "extremely large and funny looking nose."

The victim said the suspect opened the delivery driver's door, pulled him out of his car and demanded money before they drove off with only $52.67.

Now, investigators have discovered that the story the driver told them was false.

The driver, 19-year-old Michael Adam Nicewonger, will be charged with filing a false report. It is not clear if he will face additional charges.
