CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — Tyrone and Amanda Hicks were released from the hospital in time to say goodbye to their youngest child, Tylia.

"They are still not out of the woods, but right now it's the emotional side that's setting in. It's not only losing a child but burying her today on her fourth birthday," said Tylia's Uncle, Aaron Hicks.

He said his brother had a seizure while driving down Spruill Avenue in North Charleston. Police said Tyrone Hicks' truck jumped the curb and hit a pole, ejecting Tylia from the car.

"Today will be a sad and mourning occasion, but at the same time were going to have a birthday celebration for her," said Aaron Hicks.

Aaron Hicks said his niece loved Dora the Explorer and could recite her favorite episodes. He said she loved music, especially Gospel, and the service would be full of everything that made her happy.

"She was the kind of baby, if you told her no, she was going to prove you wrong," said Aaron Hicks.

The family has also set up a memorial in her name.

"We've set up a foundation in Tylia's memory at First Citizens Bank. If it's on your heart to go to First Citizens Bank and make a donation," said Aaron Hicks.

The Hicks family expects this weekend will continue to be especially hard as they had additional birthday plans to go to Chuck-E-Cheese and Monkey Joe's, some of Tylia's favorite places to visit.
