Hearings Postponed for Men Charged with Murders of Four Women

Tulsa -

The two brothers charged with the shooting deaths of four women at a south Tulsa apartment complex had their court appearances postponed.

Preliminary hearings for Cedric and James Poore were due Tuesday morning before a Tulsa judge. But the judge postponed the hearings until attorneys could argue several motions filed by Cedric Poore's legal team, such as a request to have his arrest thrown out.

Cedric is due back in court on April 17. Both will appear in court again next month.

The Poore brothers are charged in killing 23-year-old twins Rebeika Powell and 33-year-old Kayetie Melchor, and 55-year-old Julie Jackson after they robbed them. The Poore brothers pleaded not guilty.

Police say the brothers were staying at the same apartment complex at the time.

According to court records, the Poores have prior felony convictions for robbery.  Prosecutors will decided if they will seek the death penalty.
