CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A man accused of shooting a City of Charleston police officer Saturday was finally charged with attempted murder on Wednesday.

According to Charleston County court records, Mark Lorenzo Blake was charged with attempted murder. He was already facing charges of not stopping for blue lights and had also had his bond revoked for previous weapons and drug charges brought against him last year.

Bond was set at $25,000 for failing to stop for blue lights.

State law enforcement officials said Wednesday night that a bond hearing was held in Blake's hospital room earlier in the day and bond on the attempted murder charge was denied.
