CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Detectives with the Charleston County Sheriff's Office have arrested a man they suspect may have killed the man found dead by children playing in Ravenel.

The suspect, 19-year-old Harold Lee Jones, Jr., is charged with for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Murder.

The body of 67-year-old James Butler was found near the wood line by two children playing hide and seek behind a vacant home off of Roper Run Road Friday.

CCSO spokesperson James Brady says detectives got several tips saying that Jones was responsible for the homicide.

Brady said Jones was driving Butler's truck and that he had a .32 caliber handgun. Detectives also found that Jones had threatened to kill Butler  in an earlier argument. Jones was also reportedly seen leaving in the victim's truck on Roper Run Road.

According to investigators, Jones "implicated himself" in the murder when they interviewed him.

Bond was set at $50,000 for the charges of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Violent Crime. No bond was set for the murder charge.

"It is appreciated that people who had information in this case contacted detectives and provided that information in a timely manner which made a quick resolution possible," said Brady.
