Tulsa Police Arrest Man for Bringing Minor to Area for Sex

A Tulsa man was arrested Wednesday afternoon after police were notified that he brought back an under-aged girl from Nebraska in order to have sex.

Tulsa Police transported Dennis Lewis to the Tulsa County Jail Wednesday evening on an enticing away a child under 16 and several lewd proposals to a minor complaints. He was taken into custody at his home in north Tulsa.

According to the arrest report filed by TPD, officers received word that a 14-year-old girl was missing from Nebraska and possibly in the Tulsa area. When the investigated the claims further they discovered that the minor had met 42-year-old Lewis "on the Internet and he had driven to Nebraska to get her."

Lewis was located in the 3100 block of E. Virgin St. and the girl was found inside his vehicle. Officers determined that Lewis and the girl had been communicating on the Internet and text message.

At the scene detectives recovered the girl's iPod and determined Lewis had proposed having sex with her on numerous occasions in April. He also admitted to being aware that she was 16-years-old.

It also was determined that Lewis is a convicted felon on charges of false personation and larceny from a retailer, according to Department of Correction records.
