Crews Fight South Tulsa Apartment Complex Fire

Emergency crews were at the scene of a south Tulsa apartment fire Saturday afternoon that left one unit destroyed.

Tulsa Fire Department were sent to the Park Plaza Apartments just around 2:30 p.m. after they received word of visible smoke. The complex is located at the 5000 block of S. 67 E. Ave.

TFD's Stan May told KTUL that an initial investigation led them to believe the fire began in the kitchen of the destroyed unit. Investigators were being sent to make final determinations.

According to a release from the Red Cross, relief workers were sent to assist residents and provide canteen support for firefighters.

No fatalities or injuries were reported during the time of the blaze. Crews will also determine whether residents will be allowed back inside their apartments later this afternoon.
