SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Summerville police were called out to the CVS on North Main Street for reports of a robbery and found business going on as usual.

According to police reports, two employees were at the front of the store helping customers and hadn't even known that a robbery had taken place at the pharmacy in the back.

The cashier told police that she saw the suspect enter the store, greeted him but got no response. She said she then saw him leave the store "in a quick manner in an unknown direction."

The customer that employee was helping told police that the suspect left so quickly, the customer was still in the process of checking out at the register. The customer told police the suspect headed east towards the back of the store.

At the rear of the store, police spoke to the pharmacist and a customer who was getting a prescription filled. The pharmacists said the suspect was holding a "kitchen style knife" in one hand and a handkerchief in the other, covering his face.

The pharmacist told police the suspect demanded oxycontin and left with about five bottles of it.

The customer the pharmacist was helping also said he hadn't realized a robbery was taking place until he heard the pharmacist call the police.

The suspect is described as a white male around 30 years old with brown hair and a goatee. He was wearing a green ball cap, dark blue thermal shirt, jeans and sneakers.

If anyone has any information on this or any other crime, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 554-1111.
