CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) – In the early morning hours of April 2, four downtown Charleston businesses lost their homes and employees lost their livelihood.

A fire ripped through the building of 213 East Bay Street displacing the institutions of Squeeze, Speakeasy, Light, and The Brick.

On Wednesday, a fellow downtown business is helping those four joints get back on their feet and in the game by hosting a 213 East Bay Fire Fundraiser. Bartenders from the burnt bars will guest bartender at The Alley at 131 Columbus Street on Wednesday night where 100 percent of tips made will go towards the East Bay Fire Fund.

David Crowley of The Alley says they are excited to host and give back. Crowley says in addition to 100 percent of the tips, proceeds from 10 percent of all food and beverage sales and 50 percent of bowling lane sales at The Alley that night will be donated to the fund.

The event runs from 5 p.m. until midnight and features live music from Return of the Mac and the Louie D Project.
