Deputies ID 3 people wounded in Colleton shooting

COLLETON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) -- Two men and a woman were injured in a shooting Thursday night in Colleton County, according to Colleton County Fire and Rescue officials.

Chief Barry McRoy said one of the victims, a 35-year-old man, was taken to Medical University Hospital in critical condition. McRoy said a second victim, a 42-year-old woman, was taken to Colleton Medical Center in critical condition.

The third victim, a 40-year-old man, was shot in the leg and taken to Colleton Medical Center for treatment.

A release Friday afternoon from the Colleton County Sheriff's Office identified the three victims. According to the release, the man who was wounded in the leg is Jason T. Copeland. The critically injured woman was identified as Melody Marie Flowers. Officials said she had several gunshot wounds to her body and legs.

The 35-year-old man who was flown to MUSC was identified as Johnny Lee Jenkins, Jr. He has multiple gunshot wounds to the body, officials said.

Deputies said Copeland has been released, Flowers is in stable condition and Jenkins remains in critical condition at MUSC.

Officials say the shooting happened in the 400 block of Red Comet Road. There's been no word of arrests in the case. A search warrant was executed at the home, and according to officials, deputies found marijuana, scales, drug paraphernalia, and a handgun.

Deputies have not made any arrests and do not have a motive for the shooting.
