MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. (WCIV) – The Boston Marathon tragedy took place one week ago. Since then, the outpouring of support for the victims and city has been felt nationwide.

Sunday morning there was a huge response from Lowcountry runners at a Boston Marathon memorial race in downtown Charleston. On Monday, Charleston's strong running community will unite once again in a local fundraiser in Mount Pleasant for the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.

Trysports running store in Mount Pleasant is hosting a Boston Marathon run/walk fundraiser Monday at 6:30 p.m. Runners and walkers alike are asked to meet in the Trysports parking lot in Towne Centre at that time for the event.

"It's going to be people coming together to remember what happened and reflect upon that and be strong as a community," Manager Andrew Taylor of Trysports said. "Running, walking, triathlon, whatever you are doing just come out."

The run/walk will consist of a 2.62 mile tribute, playing off the 26.2 mile course of the Boston Marathon.

"We just moved the decimal over so it is 2.62 miles instead," Taylor said. "Growing up in the running community for a long time I knew a lot of people who were running in the marathon."

The route will follow mostly along Hungryneck Boulevard and the road will not be closed to traffic. The event is free for those who want to participate but donations will be collected for the One Fund Boston which was started by Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick for the Boston Marathon victims.

Monday night's fundraiser will take place at four Trysports store locations simultaneously in the Carolinas.

Also, if you need to stock up on any and all running gear, Monday is the day to head over to the store. Trysports is donating 26.2 percent of all sales on Monday to One Fund Boston.
