Boil water advisory lifted for parts of Summerville

Posted: Updated:

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Berkeley County Water and Sanitation has lifted a boil water advisory for some Summerville customers.

Residents in Tramway, Carriage Lane, The Village Mobile Home Park and anyone living along Rose Drive were under the advisory.

Residents were asked to boil all water used for drinking, cooking, and making ice prior to use.

According to a spokesperson with BCWS, independent contractors were working in that area and the water was turned off to help them complete a project.

Once pressure was restored, BCWS crews flushed the mains and tested water samples.

BCWS officials say test results show the boiling of water is no longer necessary.

Residents in the affected areas are asked to call (843) 572-4400 or visit if they have any questions or concerns.
