FAA Furloughs: No Delays Out of Tulsa Airport

Travelers flying out of Tulsa International Airport today will not notice any major delays getting out of Oklahoma, but mandatory FAA furloughs could create delays on connecting flights.

The furloughs began this week as part of the mandatory budget cuts after Congress failed to reach a deal to avoid the sequester.

The FAA is forcing every employee, including air traffic controllers to take one unpaid day off every other week.

No significant delays were reported this morning at Tulsa International Airport.

However, some flights into New York, Baltimore and Washington were delayed by more than two hours as the Federal Aviation Administration kept planes on the ground because there weren't enough controllers to monitor busy air corridors.

You can check your flight status on the Tulsa International Airport Website. For current average delays at other airports, visit KTUL.com's Airport Delay Map.
