CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A North Charleston man has pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the strangulation death of a Mount Pleasant man last year.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reported that 39-year-old Kenneth Dyer pleaded guilty in the June 21 death of 43-year-old Robert Weir.

Dyer originally was charged with murder in Weir's death. He could be sentenced to up to five years in prison.

Shara Dawn Greene, 24, of Ladson is awaiting trial on a charge of accessory after the fact of murder. Police say she was there when Weir was killed and saw Dyer put Weir in a choke hold.

Weir's body was found in the grass in front of his home by a neighbor.

According to court records, Weir had an argument with Kenneth Dyer over money Weir owed to Diamond's Escort Service. The document says Dyer later strangled Weir in the yard and attempted to destroy evidence. Karen Greene, Shara's mother, says her daughter was working at an escort service at that time.
