CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A Charleston man was arrested Wednesday night on multiple weapons charges after neighbors called police complaining that a man was firing a gun on upper King Street, police said.

According to the Charleston Police Department, 22-year-old Anthony Rashad Edwards, of Romney Street, was charged with possession of a stolen handgun, unlawful carry of a handgun and discharging a firearm.

He is being held in the Al Cannon Detention Center.

According to a police statement, residents saw a man firing a gun and running down Romney Street. Officers searched the area and found Edwards near Cypress and King streets with a gun, police said.

Police said they have not figured out if he was actually shooting at someone or just firing randomly.
