Police: Suspect stole wallet from 87-year-old woman

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Police are looking for a suspect who stole a wallet from an elderly woman while she was shopping at the Pig.

According to police, the 87-year-old victim was shopping for groceries around 12:30 p.m. April 18, at the Piggly Wiggly on Sumar St. in West Ashley.

Police say the suspect is seen on surveillance video following the victim around the store before taking her wallet which had credit cards and about $40 in cash.

Police also report the suspect used the credit cards in the wallet to buy over $800 worth of gift cards at the Rivers Ave. Walmart in North Charleston.

Police believe the suspect, shown in released surveillance photos as a black female, may be driving a silver Cadillac Deville with a grey soft top.
