COLLETON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Crews responded to a double wide mobile home fire Saturday and investigators say the fire was intentionally set.

According to Colleton County Fire and Rescue officials, the home, that had several additions, was heavily damaged Saturday evening.

Fire and Rescue was called in just before 7 p.m. to the home on Stokes Road and arrived to find flames coming from the roof.

Fire and Rescue officials said Engine 26 arrived six minutes later to find the structure about 70 percent involved.

Firefighters used a deck gun to knock down the fire and then used several handlines to extinguish the blaze and conduct overhaul.

A second alarm was issued because of exposure problems and the need for additional personnel. Crews were on the scene for three hours.

Several of the adjacent out buildings suffered minor to moderate damage.

The Colleton County Sheriff's Office is investigating the fire and anyone with information is asked to call (843) 549-2211, the SLED Arson Hotline at 800-92-ARSON or the Colleton Fire and Rescue Headquarters at 843-539-1960.
