NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A North Charleston man was arrested and charged with attacking another man last week after the two men shared a beer.

According to North Charleston police, 35-year-old Joshua Campbell was charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault and battery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a violent crime.

Police report they found Campbell hiding under his sister's bed after the alleged assault.

The incident report states Campbell met the victim as he got off the bus shortly before 10 a.m. May 7 and asked him to share a beer. The victim told police he was not friends with Campbell, but knew him from the neighborhood, so he went to Campbell's apartment.

While at the apartment, Campbell allegedly pointed a gun at the victim's face, accused him of robbing him, then hit the man repeatedly. When the victim fled, Campbell pulled $14 from the man's pockets, the report states.

Officers got a search warrant for Campbell's apartment, but did not find him inside. That's when they went to Campbell's sister's home and found him hiding under the bed.
