NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- One person was wounded in a shooting that stemmed from an altercation at a North Charleston gas station Saturday night. Now that man has been charged with attempted murder.

According to North Charleston police, the incident happened shortly before 10 p.m. at the Murphy's gas station at the intersection of Rivers Avenue and Otranto Road. Police said two men were involved in some sort of altercation when shots were fired.

Police later identified one of those men as 28-year-old Patrick Deshaine Williams. According to police, Williams opened fire at another man and hit him in the face.

An incident report released Monday shows the two men were fighting over a blocked parking space. The shooting suspect told police the victim went to his car to get a weapon, but Williams fired first.

The victim was shot in the cheek, police said.

One person was hit and he drove himself to Trident Medical Center for treatment, police said. The person's condition was not released by police.

Williams turned himself in to police on Sunday, officials said.
