ADAMS RUN, S.C. (WCIV) -- A mother of three was shot and killed Thursday afternoon while working at her family's convenience store on Savannah Highway, deputies said.

The coroner has identified the victim as 37-year-old Crystal Johnson. Deputies say she was shot during an armed robbery inside the D&V Convenience Store near Highway 174 in Adams Run.

The coroner said Johnson died as a result of a gunshot wound to the head and her death been officially ruled a homicide.

Investigators have identified a suspect and released an image of a young black man caught on the store's surveillance camera. Deputies say the suspect, who's yet to be identified, pulled into a parking lot at the front of the store in a blue, four-door car shortly before 2 p.m. and walked inside.

Charleston County Detectives are looking for 30-year-old Jeffrey Eady of 1054 527 Subdivision Road New Zion, SC for the murder. Prison officials say Eady was released last year after serving more than a decade for armed robbery.

CCSO officials said Eady is described as being 6'01 in height and 190 pounds, with black short cropped hair, goatee, and brown eyes. He was last known to be operating a blue Ford Focus SC License tag GYF 642.

Detectives are also working with Clarendon County Investigators and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division on a homicide and missing person case that occurred in Clarendon County where Eady is also a suspect.

"This does not make any sense," said the victim's sister, Christie Moultrie.

Moultrie says she last saw her sister at the family's store around noon to discuss plans for their father's upcoming 65th birthday.

"I called her back at 2:45 p.m. to tell her I was going to pick up my little girl from school and she didn't answer me," said Moultrie.

Charleston County Sheriff Al Cannon says earlier in the day a customer went into the store to make a purchase but saw the place appeared to be empty.

"He came in there and he called out 'Is anybody here?' and nobody answered and he heard someone moaning," said Moultrie.

Deputies say the customer found Johnson lying on the floor in a back bathroom and ran to call 911.

"We feel at this point we're looking for one individual," said Cannon.

Cannon says so far they're relying on the public to come forth with any information regarding the shooting that might help them solve it.

Moultrie said after her sister did not answer her phone she rushed back to the store.

"I seen the register on top of the counter and no money was in the register," said Moultrie. "She doesn't ever go in the bathroom because the bathroom doesn't work, and she was lying on the floor in the bathroom. The blood was all over her and I saw a big gash on the side of her face."

She said what she saw is an image that will remain etched in her memory for quite some time.

"Whoever done it, I hope they face the maximum penalty they can face," said Moultrie.

Anyone with information on Eady's whereabouts is asked to call 911. Eady should be considered armed and dangerous.

If you have any information on this case, you're also asked to call Crime Stoppers at 843-554-1111.

The Charleston County Sheriff's Office will hold a press conference on the case at 2 p.m. on Friday.
