GOOSE CREEK, S.C. (WCIV) -- A reported hostage situation at the Beer and Tobacco Food Mart ended with one man in custody and another being treated for gun shot wounds.

According to police, the store owner was bound by his hands and shot in the neck and hand. Officers were able to partially pry open the back door of the business and see the owner lying on the floor. However, because the owner was bound, he was not able to get to the door, a report states.

Officials said the injuries were not life-threatening, adding that the store owner was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

A customer who frequents the store called 911 after finding the door closed during normal business hours, police said. Shortly after officers arrived and made contact with the suspect, he surrendered to police.

The suspect has been taken into custody, officials said.

Police on Tuesday identified the suspect as 31-year-old Christopher Gordon Flowers, of Goose Creek. He was charged with armed robbery with a deadly weapon, according to police reports.

Flowers will also reportedly be charged with attempted murder. He was given a $80,000 bond Tuesday afternoon.
