Yankees select Tyler Webb in 10th round of MLB Draft

Columbia, S.C. – South Carolina senior left-hander Tyler Webb was selected by the New York Yankees in the 10th round of the 2013 MLB Draft. Webb was the No. 314 overall selection. A third-team All-America this year by Collegiate Baseball and a second-team All-SEC honoree, the Gamecock southpaw is among SEC leaders with 17 saves including nine saves in conference contests.

Webb is among the nation's leaders with 17 saves including nine saves in SEC contests. He has not allowed a run in 25 of 30 relief appearances this year. Webb is 3-2 with a 1.36 ERA in 39.2 innings. He has 60 strikeouts to just 12 walks, opponents batting .205 against him.

He has pitched in relief in 96 career appearances, with 75 relief appearances without allowing a run (78.1 percent). In career relief appearances he is 11-3 with 20 saves.

In 17 postseason appearances, Webb is 3-0 with two saves and a 0.72 ERA in 25.0 innings pitched. He has allowed just two runs on 11 hits while striking out 25 batters
