NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) –- Nineteen-year-old Thalia Guzeman says she was on her way home when she noticed a friend stranded on the side of the road. Guzeman asked her boyfriend to pull over so she could check on her.

Moments later, Guzeman says she was laying on the ground in excruciating pain.

"On a scale from 1 to 10, I was a 10, of course. I felt pain everywhere," said Guzeman. "Felt like I had cracked my skull open and my arm was killing me."

Guzeman says a third car plowed through the accident scene and clipped her.

"Before you know it, all I could hear were the brakes," Guzeman said. "Turn my head to the left and I see a black little car coming our way."

Police arrested Felix Garcia-Romero at the scene and charged him with three counts of felony DUI.

In all, six people were injured- four bystanders, one firefighter and one medic.

"I was supposed to get my license this past week and now, I don't even want to get it," said Guzeman.

Guzeman has a sprained knee and a torn ligament in her shoulder. She is forced to depend on pain medication and says she can barely sleep.

"I can't do anything myself, as far as clothing myself, cooking for myself anything," she said.

As far as her friends  who were also hit by the car are concerned, Guzeman says they are home and healing from leg injuries after being hospitalized.

"She was aiming at the goals of trying to use the bathroom by herself. But, they had to go into surgery with her leg," said Guzeman.

The firefighter in the accident is still recovering in the intensive care unit at Medical University Hospital.

Police say the alleged drunk driver did not have a U.S. issued driver's license.

The suspect's wife told ABC News 4 she suspects he will be deported.
