SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCIV) -- Summerville police say they have arrested a suspect for the South Carolina Federal Credit Union robbery that happened June 7.

According to SPD spokesperson Capt. Jon Rogers, 34-year-old Paul Kevin Goodwin of North Charleston is charged with Entering a Financial Institution with Intent to Steal.

Rogers says Goodwin was arrested Monday, was given a $50,000 bond and is being held on other unrelated charges. He also said it was a tip from the public following the release of surveillance photos that led to the arrest.

The South Carolina Federal Credit Union branch on Dorchester Road was robbed around 9:15 a.m. June 7 by a short black man wearing a camouflage shirt, baseball hat and sunglasses, according to Summerville police.

The man entered the bank and demanded cash, police said, adding that he did not show a weapon but told bank tellers that he was armed.

No one was injured in the incident.

According to court records, Goodwin is also facing charges for possession of a stolen vehicle and failure to stop for blue lights from North Charleston police. He was given a $10,000 bond for those charges.
