CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Thursday at the aquarium will combine good food and a fun atmosphere for a good cause -- teaching children healthy eating habits.

The event is being hosted in partnership with Louie's Kids.

On Wednesday, Forrest Parker, the head chef at the Old Village Post House in Mount Pleasant, and Little Chef Ashlyn Conway were making last-minute plans for their dish.

Both chefs were tight-lipped on whether peaches were in the dish, but 12-year-old Conway did say fruit made a great substitute for processed sugar. It's a lesson that's helped her shed 35 pounds.

"I'm really proud of myself because I didn't think I could change much," she said.

The only hint of their dish they would reveal is that they were using dry ice and a food processor to make grits.

"It's a real pleasure to be able to cook like that and to eat like that because you can have tremendous flavor, and when you walk away you're not just tired from eating this big, heavy meal," said Parker.

Conway and Parker will be competing against a dozen other teams Thursday night as part of the event's festivities. Conway says it's making her a little nervous.

"I'm just really kind of nervous, but also kind of happy because I had a chance to do this," she said.

There are still tickets available and the proceeds go to Louie's Kids. It starts at 7 p.m.
