Citadel police find no crime in barracks search

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - An investigation by Citadel campus police finds no evidence of a crime in the case of a female cadet who complained she was strip searched.

The Post and Courier of Charleston reports the military school released investigative reports at the newspaper's request.

The complaint was filed by 19-year-old Jordyn Renee Jackson last semester. She subsequently withdrew from the military college.

The reports indicate cadet officers were contacted when 1 of Jackson's roommates said she smelled marijuana in their room. Jackson was told to disrobe in the presence of other female cadets. No males were present.

The roommate told investigators Jackson said she hid the marijuana.

Jackson's attorney denies that. Jackson has said she did not possess or use marijuana in the barracks.
