CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) — It's a Father's Day Joshua Kinard will never forget.

"I completely forgot about it and I couldn't get a better present, so it's just perfect," said Kinard.

Ethan Randel Kinard arrived Sat., June 15, at Trident Hospital in North Charleston. Kinard said his son came into the world a stoutly 10 pounds, 4 ounces and 19.25 inches long.

One immediate thought came to mind -- football.

"Especially when I first saw him -- he was huge; he could go pro," said Kinard.

Little Ethan arrived about two weeks early. The first-time dad said Ethan was cooking too good and gained a good amount of weight.  Kinard said his plans for little Ethan began the day he found out the baby was a boy.

"Going fishing, going out camping, stuff like that and I actually have a boy to do it with, I was happy," said Kinard.

On this Father's Day, three generations of Kinard's joined together for their first pictures. Joshua's father Randy became a grandfather, for the eighth time with baby Ethan.

"It's awesome. It wouldn't matter if it was a girl or boy, as long as they got ten toes, ten fingers and healthy," said Kindard. "But it's nice to have another boy in the family."

After raising his own children, Randy Kinard has some words of wisdom to pass along.

"Just be home, be there for them, support them," said Randy Kinard.

Joshua Kinard said not to worry and told his new son: "Dad's always going to be here."
