Bikers Building Habitat for Humanity Homes Cross-Country Lend a Hand in Bartlesville

Posted: Updated:

A nationwide effort to bike across the country, only stopping to help build Habitat for Humanity homes, is making a pit stop in the Sooner State.

Riders from Bike & Build -- including two from Tulsa -- will stop in Bartlesville Tuesday and Wednesday, reaching their halfway point in a trek that began in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and will see its grand finale in San Diego, California.

So far, the group of 27 men and women riding from North Carolina to San Diego has covered 1,683 miles raised nearly $150,000 to benefit Habitat for Humanity.

The program is in its tenth season and funds affordable housing for those in need.
