NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Police say a North Charleston man was just trying to buy a watermelon when he got held up at gunpoint Wednesday morning.

According to a police report, the victim stopped at a fruit vendor located at the Exxon Gas Station on Rivers Ave. just before 10 a.m.

The 57-year-old victim told police a burgundy car pulled up with "a black heavy set woman" at the wheel and a black male passenger.

The victim said the man got out of the car and told him to empty his pockets. The victim complied but only had an ID card, some business cards and his $100 Nokia cell phone.

The suspect reportedly told him "If you don't have nothing, your going to have a bad day," before pulling out a gun and hitting him, causing a deep cut to the right side of his head. The suspect took the cell phone and got back into the car, taking off towards McMillan and Rivers Ave.

Police were still talking to the victim when they say they found the car at South Rhett and Bexley and later detained the suspects. The victim identified both the driver and the robbery suspect.

The driver, 30-year-old Tameka Tashea Dukes, is charged with Armed Robbery. Her bond was set at $100,000.

The suspect, 26-year-old Tyron Shaquan Washington, was with Armed Robbery and Possession of Firearm During the Commission of a Violent Crime. His bond was set at $150,000.
