SULLIVANS ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- A body was recovered from the water off Sullivan's Island early Friday morning, rescue crews said.

The body has been identified as Clinton Wade, 46, of Mount Pleasant. The Coroner's Office said the cause of death is drowning.

Don Lundy with Charleston County EMS said rescue crews responded to a boat launch on the tip of Sullivan's Island around 7 a.m. Friday. Charleston County Sheriff's Office spokesman James Brady said a 911 call was made just before 6:30 a.m. by a boater.

Brady said the body was found floating in the Charleston Harbor near the jetties across from Sullivan's Island.

Sullivan's Island Rescue, Isle of Palms Rescue, Charleston County Sheriff's Office Marine Patrol and the US Coast Guard responded.
