EMS: 14-year-old boy suffers minor injury from shark bite

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. (WCIV) -- EMS officials have confirmed that a boy was bitten by a shark on the beach at Kiawah Island.

EMS spokesperson Don Lundy said it happened around 12:45 p.m. on a public beach on Kiawah.  He didn't know which beach.

Lundy said the 14-year-old boy was bitten on the lower right leg and the injury is described as minor. 

He was taken to Roper St. Francis after the boy was taken from the beach up to the road where EMS picked him up.
