CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Another strong line of storms moved through the Lowcountry on Wednesday, leaving thousands without power and many people picking up debris.

"I mean it is flooded around here," Larry Cann said, who owns a home on River Road on Johns Island.

After heavy rain soaked parts of the Lowcountry, Cann and other homeowners found themselves trapped by flood waters.

"We couldn't even get out of the driveway," he said. "When it started raining, the trash cans overflowed into the road, and we had a wreck where the bumper came off the car and ran over the trash can," said Cann.

The water in Cann's front yard was at least a foot deep.

Drivers on Johns Island had to cope with flooding on Maybank Highway as well.

Flooding was also a problem in West Ashley. Parts of Bees Ferry Road were littered with downed tree limbs.

"It was a little frightening. I've got my granddaughter that stays with me. Hail started coming down, and strong winds," said Rick Boucher, who calls the Hickory Hill subdivision home.

Boucher and his neighbors spent Wednesday evening picking up debris.

"We're just picking up limbs and lost a fence in the back," said Boucher.

ABCNews4 Chief Meteorologist Dave Williams says more showers and thunderstorms are likely for Thursday.
