Mira Winery sells all 12 bottles of ocean-aged wine

CHARELSTON, S.C. (WCIV) -- Mira Winery sold out of its 12 bottles of ocean-aged wine on Monday, the same day the bottles were available for purchase.

The Charleston Harbor "Aquaoir" 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon was available for purchase through the winery's website.

The bottles were sold in a two-pack set and included a bottle of Aquaoir and a bottle of he same wine aged on land. The package cost $500.

The winery submerged 48 bottles of wine but has not said what it will do with the remaining bottles.

Mira Winery made history in May as the first American winery to successfully experiment with ocean aging.

The winery announced it will submerge another eight cases for six months in Charleston Harbor some time in the fall.
