Drillers Drop Opener TO Missions

Posted: Updated:

The Tulsa Drillers opened their current six game home stand with a 4-0 loss to the San Antonio Missions.  It was a scoreless game until the top of the fourth. The Missions Rocky Gale hits a sac fly to center scoring Tommy Medica to give San Antonio a 1-0 lead.

Tulsa pitcher Chad Bettis suffered the loss, but had a pretty good outing.  He pitched five innings giving up just the one run on two hits.  He also struck out three.

The Missions used four pitchers to two hit the Drillers in the shut out.

San Antonio slammed the door in the ninth with an additional three runs.

Game two of the series is Thursday night at 7:05.  There will be fireworks afterward.
