Man tells police drug deal may have triggered Ladson shooting

Posted: Updated:

LADSON, S.C. (WCIV) -- A man told deputies investigating a shooting at a Ladson apartment complex that an argument between him and his drug dealer may have triggered the shooting, a report shows.

According to the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office,  the incident happened shortly before 4 a.m. Friday at the Plantation Ridge Apartments on Hummingbird Avenue.

A man called deputies after someone fired several shots at his home, one of which hit the front door. According to the report, the man told officers he thinks his drug dealer, named "Dollar," fired the shots because he had been there earlier that night trying to collect money for a deal.

The victim told officers that he was low on funds, so he only paid part of what he owed to "Dollar."

The man said he wanted to prosecute the shooter.

There is not a description of the man who fired the shots.
